The shoes traveled with me from Santo Domingo, DR to
Phnom-Penh Cambodia at the beginning of March. When they arrived they were put
into a corner to be taken out for one outing. One very important life-changing
outing.
The
shoes went to Rubbish Mountain. A landfill where people call ‘home’. The shoes walked on tons of trash brought into the mountain daily and rummaged through by
the people of Rubbish Mountain (look for a blog about that latter). These people have no other means to live by and rummage for bottles and anything they can sell. It is a very sad life.

We
will be heading to Thailand and there is no telling if the shoes will be worn
in this heat or not but I will continue to keep you updated on them.
