Well family, friends and supporters the time is here.
I am about an hour from boarding my flight back to Charlotte from New Mexico. This is the first of MANY flights that are to come this year and I find it appropriate that it starts on the first day of the year!
Last night as the ball was on its decent down the pole in Time Square I had many emotions running through me. I was almost brought to tears from excitement and sadness as it was the last time for a year that I would see my brother, his fiance, my cousin, his fiance and my parents. But more than anything it was the constant thought running through my head, “Oh my Gosh what am I about to do. What am I thinking?!?!?” And that brought me to silent laughter and watery eyes.
There are so many unknowns next year, and to be honest that scares me a little, but I know that God shows up in HUGE ways when I allow things to be fluid and not set in stone.
So, as I prepare to leave home once again I must think back on what has brought me to this point.
I want to say Thank You to my parents for raising me in a loving environment and teaching me to be independent. (Bet you never guessed this independent Mom.) I want to thank Joel, my high school youth director, for seeing something in me and investing time to see what that was. Jeb, Associate Pastor at FUMC Albuquerque, for allowing me to test out youth ministry and encouraging me along the way. Josh (friend, pastor, boss), for allowing me to screw up in my first ‘real’ post college job and for encouraging me to step out on faith in God no matter where He takes me!
Without these people it would have taken me a lot longer to get to this point in my life. A step away from taking the spiritual journey of a life time. So I want to say:
THANK YOU
I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH!
So I am off on my first of 4 flights in 4 days!

Safe travels, seeking God at deeper levels, final support for teammates to come in, peace for my parents as they prepare for me to be gone and an easy transition into World Race living!
