On Jan 20, we ascended into
the mountains surrounding Arroyo Cano to the small town of Monticito. The truck
ride up was very interesting. We rode in the back of a flat bed truck with
2×4’s. It was quite a painful ride but it was an absolutely amazing view. We
stayed in our tents at the top of a hill overlooking the valley.
It was so
amazing to have the view we had and there were fantastic views in the morning
with the sun rising. We also were able to eat fresh avocados pulled from the
tree (if you didn’t watch out one could fall on your head)!

On Jan 21, we hiked
up to Los Frios where we prayed over a very sick woman, encouraged a lady named
Talgo who started the Christian church there and had coffee with another church
member The next morning we awoke to fog and rain greeting us on the top of the
mountain. It was amazing to see God’s beauty while high up the mountain.
