Those of you who know me know I love to countdown things. So this is my first World Race countdown! We have 30 days until training camp! This countdown brings a lot of emotion with it. In 30 short days I will meet close to 50 other people from around the U.S. and Canada who are all leaving the creature comforts of home in January to pursue Jesus Christ among the Nations.

I am so excited to meet all of my teammates. I have had the pleasure to meet Liz Froba who lives in Charlotte! I have also had the pleasure to hear my teammates voices through our weekly conference calls. Taryn Mast started a weekly conference call with our team to help us focus on prayer with each other before the trip. I cannot tell you how awesome it has been to hear my teammates voices. It makes this trip so much more real!

I am filled with many different emotions about meeting my new family for the next year. I have never lived with anyone except my parents. So living in community is going to be a huge challenge for me. But I am very excited about the community we will be living in for the next year.

Living in a Christian community where people can hold you accountable is going to be a great experience. In fact recently I have been thinking about how this type of community is what the church is lacking these days. We come to church and worship together but then we don’t see anyone from church during the week. How are we supposed to be holding each other accountable if we don’t make an effort to be involved in each others lives. Question for the day:

If we are truly a community of believers what is your part of that community?

I‘m going to give you a challenge today that was given to our team. Call someone from your church, get to know them a little better and start living in community!
