“Teri just set a new record, it only took her 10 seconds
this time” ~Tim

We arrived after a bumpy ride through the dark unpaved
streets to a revival service. Out of the vehicle we see a small hill to climb
and then people at the top where the revival service is being held. I climb up
the hill look around and see a small girl walk by me and stop. I look her in
the eyes and know I have found the child I will be attached to for the
remainder of our stay.  (My team
laughs at me because it usually does not take long for me to find a little
child at church events and this time it took me about 10 seconds.)

At debrief last month Jen Denman told me about a little girl
named Prosperity that changed her entire month at Backdoor. I told her I would
love on her as much as possible if I could.

That first night at the revival I held this beautiful little
girl and rocked her to sleep. A reminder of my little girl, Claudia, in
Haiti.  I put my gloves and my
beanie on her because she was cold. She was asleep for most of the revival
service and I had no idea what to do with her after the service. Some people
pointed me in the direction of her house and so off I went.

The next time I saw this little girl was at church that
Sunday. She literally ran up to me arms outstretched. Later that day I found
out her name was Prosperity. I knew instantly why Jen’s month had been changed
by this one little beautiful child of God.

Prosperity is growing up in a rough community. She wakes up
in poverty and goes to sleep in poverty. But what she has in Christ is so much
more. Her name is Prosperity and my prayer for her is just that, Prosperity. I
pray that God will pour out His blessings on her and make her life Prosperous.
I pray that God will provide income for her mother and that when Prosperity
grows up she will know the Lord in an intimate way and that the Lord will make
her Prosperous in the ways He wants her to be.

She is a beautiful child and will hold a special place in my
heart!
