This month we worked with the organization called Thread of Hope. Check it out at http://www.threadsofhope.com./about.htm

Alex and Chris Kuhlow are some of the most encouraging, selfless, and generous people I know. It was a blast to get to know them this month when they were in Mindoro.

Threads of Hope is a super cool organization that give women jobs who could of easily been swept away in prostitution. They make bracelets, head bands, bookmarks, and bag tags to help provide for their families.

Bracelets

In the mornings after breakfast and devotions we usually weeded the pineapple garden. Did you know that pineapples grow in the ground? Maybe I am the only ignorant one but I thought there were pineapple trees. We also did lots of digging in the dirt and cement work.

After lunch from 1 to 5 was to use how we felt lead. It usually consisted of us hanging out

with people around the village and playing with kiddos.

Twice a week the ladies who make all the bracelets come and bring all that they have made. We sort them, count them, and figure out the pay. I have never seen so many bracelets in my life! My bracelets on my arm are getting a little too high. J  Instead of a tattoo sleeve I have a bracelet sleeve.

On Saturdays we go with JoJo, Pastor Al’s daughter, to the different villages for a Sunday school lesson.

On Sunday we have a 3-4 hour church service. People even show up an hour before it starts. Our guys were able to do some sermons and our talented singers were able to share their voices. Wednesday is another night of prayer and worship with the Aninuan village.

One night we did a women’s night. We got to wash and do a scrub on their feet, share about their value and worth in God, and to fight against lies. It was truly beautiful.

One Wednesday Thriven got to do a skit called “Everything. Here is the link if you want to see it. We had a blast doing it. God was so gracious because we never have done it and only had an hour to practice it. If you are interested in seeing it you can check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGqZ3A2aXJE&feature=youtu.be

One Saturday we went to town and had a movie night for police men. We did the skit again and we watched the move Fire Proof. I had never seen the movie.

It has been a great month. I have really really enjoyed the Philippines. I am sad to go. I realized that I am getting tired of constantly building new relationships. It is exhausting. But God is gracious and will sustain me.

India, here we come!
