This month we are traveling to 4 different children’s homes.

We have a couple, Bobalin and Monibob who are traveling with us and are translating.

It has been fun getting to know them and having them join our family. We stayed at a home where there are ten boys. The pastor and his wife are the house parents and take care of them. They have a little daughter of their own. On the first floor is the kitchen, living room, boys room, and the pastor’s room. On the second floor is the church. This is where we pitched our tents (I am so excited that we get to use our tents this month! I actually prayed that we would. Don’t think my teammates were very appreciative of that prayer, oops). In the mornings we sent the boys off to school all dressed up with their ties, and hair combed to the side. We had worship and then we started painting.

We got to paint the whole outside and the inside of the building.

At times it got frustrating adjusting to how they do things. For example, they stretch a 5 gallon bucket of paint for the whole outside. That means they just keep adding water to the paint, making it extremely thin, drippy and messy. They also do not use any drop clothes so paint was absolutely everywhere. Even though we had our unproductive moments of complaining, God reminded us that we need to abide by what they wanted (even though it seems like more work and less practical) because we came here to love them and serve them.

The boys got home at 5 from school (Yes, a 9 hour school day, and they have school on Saturdays too!). We had homework parties, and then got to play until prayer time at 7. After worship and prayer it was dinner time. Then off to family feedback and bed!

The boys are absolutely precious. They of course have stolen all our hearts! Please pray that they would continue to grow in God and be able to grow up in this village that is predominately Hindu and be the generation that brings the good news to these beautiful people!
