Here is a rough example of an average day:

7-8 quiet time

8-9:45 running, showier and breakfast

9:45-12 worship and prayer at Hope Church (I loved this time to be able to hear Pastor Raul’s heart for not only his family, co-laborers, neighbors, the city, and his country; but also for reaching the world.  He even had a question each day to challenge us to defend our beliefs with the Bible).

Hope Church

12-1 lunch

1-5:30 Kids club, teaching English, street evangelism, house visits, logistics (We would split up in groups and do one of these things. I got the treat of getting to experience all of them, but my favorite was teaching English and doing home visits!)

Pastor Raul on Sunday

Singing and sharing testimonies on Sunday

Home visit (We got to bring people food, got hear stories and pray for them).

Helping boys after school with homework. Andreea works with them because they are so far behind.

Kids club. We worship, we learn about Jesus, we pray, and just have fun together!

Bethany, a squad mate and I got to teach English to kids once a week at the church.

Mariana and her son Andrew

Twice a week I got to teach English to Mariana! Honestly she is already very good at English. So we worked on translating Bible verses, learning how to explain words such as sanctification, justification, grace, spiritual gifts, etc. in English. She also practiced sharing Bible stories and the gospel. We included some fun slang words in the lesson too. 🙂 Not only was it a joy to teach, but it was great fellowship.

Bethany taught Mariana’s daughter English while we had our lesson. Good teamwork!

5:30-6:30 free time (Got to hang out with Eli if she was free!)

Sleepover with Eli!

6:30-7 dinner

Two of our squad mates made lunch and dinner for us everyday! What a treat!

7:30-8:30  Faamily feedback

9:30 BED…a real bed!
