Hello, everyone!! I am so excited to announce that I am completely and fully funded for my World Race to South America next year!! Praise God, who always does abundantly more than we can imagine, and THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
To everyone, whatever you gave, whether it was financial or through prayer, it all matters and it all has meant more than you know to me (video to come soon on all that God taught me during fundraising). THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I feel so relieved to be fully funded and not have to worry about this in the coming months, as I have a lot on my plate. I’m in the final push of graduate school and will be graduating in May, I am going to go for my Olympic Trials cuts again in May (I missed the cut by three tenths of a second last week – excruciating!), and a million other things between. So this is such a huge praise and I can never ever thank each of you enough for the sacrificial love you have shown me in sending me on this trip. All I can say is that I am truly honored to have you on this journey with me.
On a logistical note, PLEASE STOP DONATING!!! I never thought I would have to say that, but I have received multiple donations after I was fully funded because my site hasn’t updated to show it yet (the donations sometimes take 7 to 10 days to process). If you donate after I am fully funded, the funds no longer go to me but go to the Word Race general fund. So it helps other missionaries and is certainly not wasted money, but it will no longer go directly to me. Also, if you were giving a monthly donation, PLEASE CANCEL IT. It will not cancel on its own now that I’m fully funded. I think I have let all of these supporters know, but in case I missed you, please cancel the recurring gift!
Also, if you ordered a t-shirt, I should be getting those around Thursday and will mail them or bring them to you ASAP after that! Thank you for getting one!!
People have reached out to me still wanting to help and wondering if they can do anything, and the answer is YES. I will still end up spending around $3000 on vaccinations, all of my equipment, and my flights to training camp and the first destination in the US. So if you feel led to donate to me, message me please! Also, I think I will create an Amazon Wishlist for needed equipment if you would like to purchase an item there to help me on my way (I’ll let you know when I do that). FOR FUTURE RACERS: For my last fundraiser, I did a “box” fundraiser over social media. The WR staff suggested this, as it is something that has worked well in the past. Usually people do boxes 1-100, but I only needed to do 1-50 in order to be fully funded (no, I did not mean to put 49 on the chart twice. I’m just blonde. 🙂 ). I’ve included some photos to show you all how it works! Hope this helps some of you in the future.
If God has told you to go, then He WILL provide. Rest and trust in that, but also take responsibility for letting Him stretch you in the fundraising process. There is something different for each of us to learn in this process.
