Never have I ever… Until Zimbabwe

Never have I ever…

  • Been on a 5 hr ride on mostly unpaved roads with 10 other people in van with only 8 seats and all of our luggage.
  • Wandered in the African Bush in 100 degree weather to invite locals to a new church we were starting underneath the big tree by the local water well
  • Preached a sermon – that had to be translated
  • Eaten rice and Sadza (an African cornmeal substance) for so many meals in a row
  • Killed so many spiders the size of my palm
  • Seen so many goats, donkeys, and cows running free (literally poop everywhere)
  • Introduced the gospel to those who had never heard it before
  • Been worried about running into a black mamba or an elephant in the wilderness
  • Counted out amoxicillin tablets for the free clinic
  • Given a motivational speech in a school to those going into exams
  • Known 5 other people’s stories so deeply after such a short period of time.
  • Met people in such rural areas with so little having endured such hardship that have such a big faith in God
  • Dealt with a water crisis where the well runs dry daily.
  • Slept with a bug net
  • Reworn so many clothes because handwashing takes forever (though they dry so fast in 90+ degree weather)
  • Spent sooooo much time on dirt roads- hours of bumpy rides – giving random people rides home (literally piling up to 19 people in the van at one time)
  • Been propositioned by an African Chief
  • Spent so much time in a van
  • Seen God work in such wondrous ways

But now I have done all of those things. What new things will Zambia hold?
