From the American dream to living God’s dream. Myanmar was exactly what I needed.
Thank you God for being a pioneer. Steadfast in building new relationships. Giving me not the big picture that I asked for, but teaching me to be present in the moment. Thank you for reminding me that ministry is not about projects, it’s about relationships. Thank you for this family you knitted together at Myanmar’s Dream House. Thank you for the sunsets, beaches, cheap eats and pretty seashells. Thank you for the space to listen to you, to take initiative, to be bold and to follow through with people and things you’ve placed on my heart.
Thank you God for refreshing my soul. It was so sweet to pray and fast with you. Thank you for helping me break free from my fears and doubts of becoming fully funded. Thank you for reminding me that you are my purpose, portion and potter. Thank you that even when things don’t feel or look “glorious,” that you are still worthy of it all. Thank you for encouraging me to prep, praise, pray and practice everyday. Thank you for calling me higher to be a cheerful giver.
Thank you for helping me focus on the “why” and not allow the “hows” to hold me back. Thank you for providing a way Jesus. In a town where a hard copy bible isn’t available in the local language, thank you that we discovered the Burmese translation on our bible apps. Thank you for google translator. Thank you holy spirit for being our ultimate translator. Thank you for being so wildly compassionate holy spirit. To follow you to a hospital and pray for a father and mother. To weep, to bring healing and to light up a whole room with smiles.
And in writing this, thank you for allowing me to pause frequently to love you God, to love myself and to love my neighbors. This about sums up what these 9 past months have been all about. I am in Thailand now and have 2 more months on the race. Our flights are officially booked home on April 30th (yay!).
