Sometimes I feel like the World Race is like a reality TV show minus the drama. Can you imagine 40 strangers living together under one roof?? That was month #1 in Nicaragua.
Now, in month #2, we’re split up into smaller teams in Costa Rica. I’ve always stayed with my parents so it’s way different living with 6 other girls. We call ourselves Groot… like from Guardians of the Galaxy. For those who haven’t watched the movie, Groot is a tree-like character. He is loyal, protects his buddies and gives light in the dark.
It’s been cool hanging out with my Groot girlfriends. We can work it between mature and goofy, responsible and just want to have fun, deep and light hearted, laughing super hard and ugly tears. You know when things go sososo smoothly, that you almost take it for granted? That’s how good they are to me.
Groot love is:
1. Making coffee for the team in the morning even though she doesn’t drink coffee

2. Watching movies on a small laptop and is cool with not getting the HD experience

3. Drops dinner plans for the night when I suggest McDonald’s. But only once in a while.

4. Gracefully shuffles into a taxi because we’ve figured the best way to fit 7 people into one sedan

5. Demands to check out your pore strip before you throw it away.
6. Understands your nap needs but takes many pics of you while you’re sleeping.

7. Volunteers to do team chores that are not fun – snakes the sink, cleans the bathroom, washing dishes, grocery shopping, waxing the floor.
8. When people keep asking if you’re sisters…

9. Going to grab your bible on the patio and find yourself doing push-ups with the ones working out on the patio.

10. Grubbing together!!

11. Loving you the best way they can when you’re having a bad day.
I get to be with these girls until it’s time to switch teams. Learn more about them in the Meet the Team section of my page. More to come on Costa Rica!!
Love,
Tee
