If any of you don’t yet know… you have the ability to check your support account online. If you don’t yet know how to do this, please get in touch with one of us so you can do this. It will be important for you to know how once you are on the field as it will be much harder to call in and ask!!!
The first week of January, your account will slightly change. We will expense the amount of the trip out of your account. This doesn’t mean you have to have 100% of your money by then. It’s just a part of our accounting. When this happens, it’s important you know how to read your account page to understand where you are financially.
For those of you who have never done an AIM trip in the past, this is a fairly easy process. You should be able to look at your gifts line and see the total amount of money you have raised so far. This is the number we use to see if you are meeting your deadlines. Once we expense your account, you will be able to look at your balance line and see how much you have left to raise. When you are done raising all your money, you can use your balance line to see how much you could get in reimbursements.
For those of you who have done AIM trips in the past, it’s a bit more complicate, but not bad. Your gifts line will reflect ALL the gifts you have EVER raised, which doesn’t help you in the World Race support raising process. Instead, you will need to focus on your balance line. This should still tell you how much you have left to raise. If you want to know how much you have raised, simply take 13,800 and subtract your balance. When your account reaches the goal, it will have $0.00 as your balance. Once your balance is a positive number, you are ready for reimbursements as well.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask either myself or Kari.
