Passports, for fairly obvious reasons, are very important documents to World Racers. If any of you do not currently have a passport, you need to apply for one IMMEDIATELY. They can take months to receive, and must be sent off for multiple things during the preparation process. You can apply for a passport at any post office with two passport size photos of yourself. For more information visit http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html.
For those of you who have traveled at all with your passport, you will need to obtain extra passport pages. You are required in many countries to have a minimum of two completely blank pages in your passport (and the pages in the back without stamp squares might not count) before you enter or leave the country. Due to the abundance of countries you will not only work in, but travel through, you need to get pages added to your passport. Visit http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri/add/add_850.html for more information on how to do this. Send your passport right now to insure you get it back in time. There is no cost to add pages according to the website, so there’s no reason to wait!
As far as visas are concerned, you do not yet need to apply for any. Once we make decisions on your route (a decision made MUCH later in the process and always subject to editing) we will let you know what visas to send off for and instructions on how to do that.
