The World Race staff spends hours reviewing your personality assessments and your files to get to know you. We pray over the process. We discuss as a team the different observations we have of individuals who we have gotten to know.

We then come up with an initial plan which divides the squad into teams. We meet together again to discuss the teams and look at the balance of groups. Here are some of the criteria we use to determine how to divide the teams:

Criteria for Team Selection

  • Personality Assessment Results
  • Potential for spiritual growth
  • Balance [ratio of males/females, etc]
  • Gifts & Leadership
  • Ministry styles
  • Size of teams
  • Ages

After we take these factors into consideration, we form “stage 1” teams. It’s probable that AIM may need to make changes to these teams at training camp or during the race based on issues that come up.

We also assign provisional leaders based on our initial observations. These leaders may be changed during training camp or at the end of the first or second month of the race.

During the race AIM reserves the right to move or hold back an individual if we have feedback from the leadership on issues that are affecting the individual and the team. Issues that have caused us tom make changes in the past have been: lack of submission to authority, inappropriate male-female relationships, balance of spiritual gifts, emerging leadership qualities, opportunities for ministry, etc.

We ask you to remain flexible and trust the Lord in this process.
