Hey Guys!  Below is a support letter my friend Eileen sent me.  She just got back from a trip to Africa….and well the letter sord of explains so I won’t but I just wanted to post it so that even though the letter does not ask for it I wanted to ask if we could support through prayer.  I just wanted to lift up this letter, the fundraiser, and the community!

Hello Everyone…

I hope this letter finds you all cheerful!
As, you may or may not know this past spring break I chaperoned Packer high school students on a service-learning trip to South Africa to volunteer with ArtWorks for Youth.
The trip was wonderful and inspiring.
The students from The Sivuyiseni School (K-8) were so welcoming, loving and enthusiastic and they were excellent teachers as well as learners.
These children showed us that learning takes place in every moment of our lives, not just within a classroom and that having those who you care about in your life is what is most important.

Packer is home to exceptional young adults; they are knowledgeable, kind, confident and have so many resources at their fingertips.
These students, if they choose, will have the power and ability to make an enormous impact in our world.
I found it incredibly moving to witness the trip alongside Packer students, many of whom were viewing poverty for the first time and to watch them decide that they were going to stand up and make a change in this small, distant community.

This is the time of year that John, the founder of ArtWorks, has his annual fundraiser and since I was so privileged to take part in the trip I told him I would send out a few letters to some close friends/family I thought would be interested in helping.
I am writing to ask for donations of ANY size!
Your money will go towards ensuring that another class of Sivuyiseni students has a safe/productive activity to attend after school and a square meal for each school day.
Plus, if ArtWorks continues to run and Packer students continue to visit and become committed to making changes in society just think of all that could happen!
