For all the girls… I don’t have many pictures yet, those probably won’t come until August. I’ll take care of the business stuff first in this blog and then give you all the details of the wedding 🙂
Business… I am officially in Gainesville, GA working from the office now. I have the same email – [email protected], and the same cell number for World Race stuff – 678-936-3706. I also have an office phone – 770-983-1060 ext 271. Cell phone reception is horrible around here, so leave a message and I will check voicemail often. I am working through my email inbox and through the blog sites to get caught up, but please be patient! I have well over 300 emails to get through!
Okay… the wedding details! Everything was absolutely perfect. It rained every day that week (in West Texas… seriously… it never rains!) which was scary because we were outdoors with no backup plan. But Wednesday evening, the rain ended, making everything green and beautiful. Friday, the temperature was perfect – a cool evening… again in West Texas! We were married in a big open field at the bottom of a stone staircase. I would tell you the ceremony was beautiful or the words were amazing… but honestly it’s all a blur! I remember the moment I saw Corey and how all the worries and stresses just melted away and I smiled so big my cheeks hurt. I remember saying “All my life I give to you…” and thinking “Yeah… this is so good!” Same deal with the reception… just a blur!!!! I’ll let you know how it was when I get the pictures 🙂
Our honeymoon was wonderful. We stayed in a historic old cabin outside the wedding site for two nights. It was so calm and peaceful out there – a great change of pace from the wedding week! We had lunch with the bridal party and our family the afternoon after the wedding – a little awkward, but really awesome that we didn’t have to say goodbye to the really special people at the wedding. Then Sunday we packed up what we could in my little car and began driving to Georgia. Then we spent a few days up in Helen, GA, north of Gainesville. It’s a great old German town with lots of fun European flavor. We had a great cabin in the mountains and it was incredibly relaxing. Then we moved into our new house – just down the street from the AIM base – and began setting up. After a few days of that, we flew to California for Corey to stand up in a wedding for one of his childhood friends. We stayed with Katherine Weston’s mom (Katherine was on the 2006 World Race with me) and Katherine visited with us. We arrived home yesterday morning and am now back on the job!
It’s great to be with you guys again – I look forward to catching up on the past month of everything that has happened!!!
