Okay guys… apparently there’s been some confusion on how this airport transportation thing works. Let me see if I can clarify. There’s also some new information here…

For those arriving on April 5 between 10am and 2pm

I, Laura, along with Barbara will meet you at the airport. We will be looking for you, but in case we miss you, come to the Atrium. It’s a food court kind of place. We will be hanging out near Atlanta Bread Company. Look for Adventures In Missions Staff shirts or World Race shirts. We’ll try to make it obvious. If you arriving right at 2pm, come to the North Baggage Claim and go down the stairs towards exit. We will have a bus waiting there to drive us all back to AIM. Same goes for the leaders arriving early on the 3rd. We’ll meet you there.

For those driving to AIM between 4 and 5pm April 5

Joy will be there awaiting your arrival. Should you make good time and get there early, there will be plenty of people around to direct you to Joy. She will check you in and point you in the right direction to get set up.

For those arriving any other time

Because camp will be going on and Atlanta is a bit of a drive from AIM, you have to make your own arrangements. One option is to get a shuttle with AAA (see previous blog). They will take you to the Best Western in Gainesville (much closer than the Atlanta airport) and AIM staff will pick you up there. However, you need to call Barbara’s cell and make sure we know when to meet you there. Be sure your schedule works with AAA. If not, you need to make other arrangements (teammates? email me? get creative?). Camp activities will happen from approximately 8am until 10pm. Keep that in mind when asking teammates to drive you. We are all pretty generous people for the most part, though.

For those departing by plane April 15

We will depart camp by bus and have you to the airport about 12 noon. Through tearful goodbyes we will promise to keep in touch until we meet again.

For those driving away April 15

Whenever you’re ready to leave, see ya’!

For those departing any other time

You are responsible for your own arrangements. Again, AAA is a possibility if it works with your schedule. An AIM staff or teammate will drive you to the Best Western in time to get on the shuttle when you need. Then the shuttle will take you to the airport according to the previously posted email. If AAA does not work with your schedule, you are still responsible for making your own arrangements.

Don’t worry too much about this. We are all generally nice people and you won’t get stranded anywhere for too long if we can help it. This is a great way to practice creative transportation before the Race! Call me or email me and we will help you figure out what you need to do.
