1.) Are we all memorizing the same version of our covenant verse?
You can memorize whatever version you want.
2.) Lets take some time to check-in with these people in the next week. Be intentional. Pick a couple of them.
» Brent Flanagan
» Cori Williams
» Daniel Gutman
» Mark Gingrich
» Michelle Mullings
» Natalie Bethune
» Sarah Barkie
» Sarah Flynn
» Seth Barnes, Jr.
3.) If you need to renew your passport or need extra pages do it NOW and use expedited service. Call the state department when they open at 6am Eastern Time if you need to get through. Check www.zvs.com for more passport information/servicees.
4.) Visas- we don’t know yet. Bring extra passport size photos for visas along the road. Go to Visa Service Online. www.zvs.com. You can download a visa for every possible location there (except for North Korea… I checked! I have a heart for communist countries… hopefully I’ll get there one day!).
Kelly opened in prayer
6.) Mary Beth talked about personality assessments and team conflict.
As we develop teams staff will be giving us team maps and profiles so we can know each person on the team and how they deal with change, stress, etc. The biggest challenge and growth area on the race is through interpersonal conflict. Check out Annie Bower’s blogs for info on expectations and team living/conflict. Most racers like change, but some prefer predictable environments and this creates problems sometimes.
Amy- not really comfortable initiating to resolve conflict
Kelly, Pam, Jeanette- feel fairly comfortable initiating resolution
* Familiarize yourself with Matt 18 so that you know how to resolve conflict.
* If you can’t talk to each other you should try and pray for each other.
* It’s also important to talk about boundaries within teams. Know what is off limits for each of your team members. Do our boundaries serve ourselves or do they serve others?
* Important to go to prayer for each other all the time
* Affirm each other when someone does or says something that you appreciate.
How can we be praying now?
Lets commit to laying ourselves down to the people we interact with everyday starting now. Let us not wait until the race.
We will pray for wisdom and knowing when we’re speaking out of selfish pride or really speaking the truth in love.
Asking for patience and for the Lord to reveal when we’re acting out of emotion.
Jeanette closed in prayer for the things above.
EVERYONE PRAY FOR COLLEEN FOLEY against spiritual warfare and attack from Satan. Check the team D site for more.
Also when you post on the team blog make sure you select the appropriate category. This makes it easier to find the blogs when we need to go back and do that! The default is set to staff communications so it might be advisable to check/edit the blogs you’ve posted and go back and put them in the correct category now!
