Hello Racers!

After much anticipation, we have set the dates for your September training session!

Below you will find critical information concerning both your training schedule and your flight schedule. READ CAREFULLY, then respond back to World Race Staff([email protected]) with the required information concerning your travel plans.
Due Monday, June 4th.


IGNITION TRAINING: September 1- 5, 2007

This training is
mandatory for anyone who did not attend the April 5-15 training and some who did. If you attended only part of the April training, you may also be required to attend the September Ignition Training. (Refer to list to see if you are required to attend)

Volunteers needed
:   For any racer not required to attend the Ignition Training, we would love to have you volunteer your time for the Ignition Training Serve Team (August 30-September 5). Please respond quickly if you would like to assist. Respond to [email protected]

The World Race begins! Everyone comes together for the first time to begin the launch phase

Gainesville
is approximately 1.5 hours north of
Atlanta
. You must arrive within the following schedule.

Flying into
Atlanta
airport (ATL)

IGNITION Training

                   ARRIVE September 1

The AIM bus will leave the airport promptly at
2:00 PM
. There is no cost to you for this shuttle.

NOTE: 
Atlanta
is the busiest airport in the
US
, therefore plan ahead for unexpected delays and allow ample time between gate arrival, baggage claim and transportation pickup.

You can e-mail us for exact directions if you are driving in.

NOTE:  If you are driving you must have plans for what to do with your car for the next 11 months. It may
not stay at the AIM base.

 



LODGING/MEALS

Your lodging and meals on site are included in the cost of training. Two team meals are off-site. $20 total should cover the cost of both off-site meals.

Accommodations
: Primitive. You will be properly equipped if you follow your WR packing list. Don’t over-pack as everything you bring will be on your back for 11 months.
