During my sophomore year in college me and my roommate were searching for a new place to live.  We found an awesome 2 story 3 bedroom house for the two of us.  After contacting the associate broker and applying we were given the place to rent.  After a visit to Dan Cantrell’s office (the associate broker) to finalize paper work he oddly offered me a job as a property manager assistant.  I was really blown away- but took the job-
it was all God, I mean I had no experience what’s so ever and I later found out he and his wife were among the top realtors in all of Washington.  I felt like a very small fish in a very BIG sea!  And so was the start of a relationship that I’m truly thankful to God for.

Dan and his wife have supported me financially and prayerfully over the past 4 years.  If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have been able to do the charitable bike ride I did 2 summers ago.   For how successful they are they are some of the most generous people I have ever met and have seen their generosity first hand working for them.  I sent Dan and his wife my support letter.  He contacted me and said I’d love to see you in person to discuss this.  So today I drove up to Bellingham to meet with Dan for the day.  I met him at an open house at one of his newly built homes.  We had the whole place to ourselves- it reminded me of when I worked for him and did PR for the new homes that were built.  It was a very easy task probably why he had me do it. =) After talking for a couple hours he said, “Sean I’m going to write you a check.  All I ask is that you stay in touch and do what your doing.” I felt scared, nervous, and almost as if I didn’t want to take the check because they have already done so much over the years.  As he handed it to me I hesitated and he said, “take it, its ok.” I took it and put it in my pocket.  I didn’t want to look at it- because I wasn’t concerned with the amount I was already overwhelmed with the love he had showed me this afternoon. And he just smiled at me.  So we talked a little bit more and then he had to go.  We said our goodbyes as we both walked out to our cars and hugged goodbye.  As I sat in my car, I decided to look at the check. It was for $3,000.  I couldn’t believe it. I jumped out my car chased Dan’s car down as he was pulling out.  He rolled down his passenger window and said, “is everything ok you forget something in the house.”  I said, no Dan thank you Dan thank you I can’t believe this, thank you.  As I began to cry trying to find words to thank him, he began to cry and said, “just stay in touch and do what your doing!”

Words were not enough- but he knew my thankfulness- and I knew that he truly gave what he could from his heart.. Praise be to our God for his faithfulness.  I now have $6500 cash to start this journey…. PRAISE GOD!!!!!
