For most of my life I got my nails done every other week. It was always my favorite time of the week! I loved the rest it brought me and how safe of a place it was for me to share my heart. Thank you Jami for always loving me so well and being an amazing friend to me.
The other day I was given the unexpected gift of being able to paint a group of elderly women’s nails. I didn’t think it would be much of a gift walking to the nursing home. When we got there and they told the sweet, little old ladies that we wanted to paint their nails, their faces lit up! I was instantly reminded of how much getting my nails done used to mean to me. How it was restful, safe and made me feel beautiful even on my worst days. My perspective changed and I was feeling so honored that the Lord was giving me the opportunity to be these people’s “Jami”.
I was given the opportunity to love them well, tell them how loved they are by Jesus and show them they are seen and important.
To see their faces light up and their smiles was the most incredible gift from the Lord. I still feel so overwhelmed by this sweet gift from Papa. I love that my Papa gives me such simply complex opportunities. He knows me and loves me intimately.
“You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand.”
Psalm139:5-6
