As if The World Race wasn’t an amazingly huge calling to wrap my arms around and carry God’s love gratefully to reach 11 countries…He strategically snuck in another country. I know your at the edge of your seat in wonder of which country this may be, but first I would like to share with you how God has been connecting me to knowledge and growth.
Courtney, my sister in God invited me to study the word “Wisdom” with her, and share what each of us had learned. If it wasn’t for the grace of God I would feel ashamed for what I would have defined “Wisdom” as.
My definition: Having done research, experiences in life, and looking in the right direction at the end of day to know, understand and share the fruit with others.
Dictionary: The quality or state of being wise; knowledge of what is true or right couples with just judgment as to action; sagacity, discernment, or insight.
Greek- “sofia” – cleverness, skill; a right application of knowledge.
After rummaging through scriptures the biblical and more precise definition of “Wisdom” was dusted off, and laid upon my lap as a very resourceful tool. Wisdom came as part of my free gift from God. You know when that fear broke through and rekindled my soul. (This is not imagery that my Bible was dusty, but that my understanding of “Wisdom” was not yet revealed)
Proverbs 9:10 – The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Job 28:28 – and he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’
Proverbs 8:8 – All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them. They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.
Quite honestly I could carry on with scripture for days regarding “Wisdom”, because The Bible concentrates on teaching how to be abundant with “Wisdom”. Pause here: One warning label that should be applied is you can read The Word all day, but if you do not apply it to your life then you are throwing away the precious gifts.
A straightforward and now deeply impaled definition within my being of “Wisdom” would read… Wisdom is first fearing God, shunning evil, and applying the teachings of The Word day in and day out to our lives.
How do we relate the teachings to our lives? Place your Bible upon the table and open to a random unpredicted page, now read… but don’t just read, grasp the message, dig deeper into how it applies to whatever is taking place in your life, now go out and apply with action what was revealed.
With that said here is where you’ll get the reasoning within God calling me to the mysterious 12th country. (Wow this is hard to explain without blowing my cover)…
Isaiah 43:5-7 – Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you, I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, who I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.
How better to understand The Bible than to plant my feet on the dirt…the dirt that is called “The Holy Land”!! I couldn’t refrain any longer! Mid February Michelle, another sister in Christ and I will be aboard a large flying bird to spend a couple weeks touring the land of Israel. Visually before us will be the actual settings from The Bible coming to life, and explanations through the stories. When Jesus says He wants all of me He meant it. He wants my eyes to see where He has disciple, He wants my feet to have walked where His once walked, He wants my heart to beat in the nation of Israel, He wants to create “Wisdom” in me to flourish with not only the words, but with the actual land He was present to during His time of flesh on Earth.
I trust God is calling us to Israel to enhance our “Wisdom”, knowledge, and understanding. This is a blessing that God would prepare a way for me to embark on what I didn’t even see as experiences possible over a life time, but that He is sending me into 12 countries within a little over a year of my life. I am blessed to be traveling with Michelle, as she has been so kind to share her resourceful and personal finding of ways to travel smart/light/what is necessary, how to prepare mentally… oh and not to mention she has gypsy feet full of adventure (can get us through the airports). Please pray for us. This trip is coming up soon!
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for providing me with “Wisdom”. I pray that I will continue to grow with “Wisdom” and truly apply your teachings to my life. Lord, I know that you have called us to Israel, and I pray that your purpose will be carried out. I pray that you will protect us in our travels, and that our hearts will be soften by the land in which you walked. Lord, that our eye will never see The Bible the same, but that the images we imagined will be replaced with what truly is. I thank you for this opportunity and blessings. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!
