Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end
Every facet of my life has always been about being in the right place at the right time. So it comes to no surprise how I found out about the amazing opportunity called the World Race! About a month ago I walked into the mall with the plan of picking up ONE thing from the counter (we all now how that goes). I walked into Bare Minerals and met an amazing make-up artist named Krysta who somehow convinced me to sit and get my make-up done (I must have looked dry! lol). Anyways on to girl talk! As we continued to chat, we began to find that we had a LOT in common. Part of the conversation went something like this:
"I love Jesus!"
"OMG! Shut up I love Jesus too!"
Krysta shared her passion for photography and her church and I shared with her my passion for traveling and doing mission-type work. I was looking to participate in a short-term mission trip to Dominican Republic over the summer. Come to find out Krysta's sister was on a mission trip to 11 countries in 11 months. I figured it wouldn't hurt to at least check out the organization. The following day at work I looked up Amanda's blog and more information on The World Race. I was completely floored. God gently reminded me of a prophetic word I received about my participation in missions almost a year to the date. It was like an "A ha moment." I had this overwhelming feeling of "this is what you need to do." I prayed. Prayed some more. Applied. Interviewed. Prayed. Got accepted. Prayed. So here I am a month later, in obedience to God's will, getting ready to embark on the most incredible, life changing journey!
My next blog will give more details about what the World Race is and where I will be going. I haven't blogged in years! Please bare with me. But I am super excited to share with you everything pertaining to my trip. And my hope is that you will continue to lift me up in your prayers and if led support financially.
