Psalm 90:2 : Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from the beginning to end, you are God.

Psalms 97:5 : The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all earth.

Nepal is probably the most beautiful country I’ve been in. I thought I was in love with northeast India but I’ve found a new love and it’s Nepal. Nepal is a combination of all things awesome! I appreciate Kathmandu as a city and within hours I can be up in the Himalayan mountains. City and mountains – best of both worlds. Something that’s always been on my bucket list is to climb Mt. Everest. How that came about I’m not really sure. It could be because it’s the tallest point in the world and my continued thirst for adventure craved it or it could also stem from watching too many movies.

After climbing some mountains up in the Himalayas. I began to rethink my quest to climb Mount Everest and it didn’t help that I couldn’t spare 13 days to hike up to basecamp. So when I was approached with another opportunity to get to Everest, I completely jumped on it. A group of us booked a flight to see this glorious wonder called Mt. Everest. Filled with giddy excitement I jumped off my bed at 4:30 to get ready for my 6am flight to Everest. Before you get to Everest, there are several other mountains you will see like Mt. Melungtse, Mt. Numbur, Mt. Shisha Pangma, or Mt. Chugimago. I looked out and admired all the beauty of God’s creations. I loved all the intricacies of all the other mountains. I loved the interesting crevices and their unique shapes. Then we approached Everest and I was a bit dumbfounded by the simplicity of it. It wasn’t the most interestingly shaped it was just the tallest. (Don't get me wrong it was still a sight to behold! I mean I'm 26,000 ft up in the air at the tallest mountain on earth – literally on top of the world!)

In that moment the Lord whispered to me a few things. He told me I am Mt. Everest in His sight. I may not be the most beautiful, the most interesting, the most talented, but He chose ME! He chose to use a plain and simple girl all for his glory. He raised and elevated me, clothe me with an indescribably beauty and joy that only comes from Him. People travel miles and pay big money to climb or lay eyes on Mt. Everest. They don’t even know the names of the other mountains surrounded by Everest. To God, you are also Mt. Everest. When you feel inferior, just know that the God of the universe loves you and cares deeply about you. He’s doesn’t love you because of how you look or your accomplishments. He has already deemed you worthy. So worthy He sent His son Jesus to die for your sins and to reconcile you back to Him. Don’t allow anyone to ever tell you otherwise about your identity. Stand tall and be confident in that TRUTH.
