Picture this:

8 young adult missionaries are on a trip around the world and have 4 hours of free time. They bring bubbles, signs for free hugs and prayer to the local Central Park in Guatemala.
They break out the speakers and start a dance party on the square.
Smiles stretch ear to ear as strangers pass by.
Bubbles fly everywhere.
Kids come running from all different directions.
Older people sit on the benches staring.
Bubbles continue to fly.

They begin to seek out people who look like they could use a hug:
Talk to guys and girls of all ages.
Pray with drunks.
Lay hands on the sick.
Sit with the voiceless.

They meet people in the midst of their routine to share a little joy:
Feel the power of an embrace.
Be the change they want to see in a community.
Create a culture of love.

Living life fully.
Declaring lives will be changed and hearts will be softened.
It is because of the One who so gracefully and abundantly loves them.
With a constant prayer in their spirits: that love reclaims the atmosphere.

Lately I’ve found myself asking God to give me an opportunity, put a person in my path, or show me His goodness. But the Lord doesn’t just want my requests, He also said “Go out…”. Go out and make known the mystery of the gospel! He has called me on this mission not simply to listen and ask, but he has called me to get up and go! Be the light, be the love, be the joy and thank Him as He leads me.

When we experience a moment where the passion in our own heart meets the Lord’s heart for us and others, His grace is evident. Joy blossoms!

“How does it save the world to reject unabashed joy when it is joy that saves us?”- Ann Vonkamp, One Thousand Gifts

We let go of asking.
And choose to be. Be the joy.
Chase the Lord to the park and make an opportunity to bring Glory to Him.

If we don’t share the joy we’ve experienced in our life,
we’re robbing someone else of experiencing the freedom God has given us!
