I just graduated college two weeks ago, which is SO exciting.
And now I’m getting ready for training camp. I leave in 23 days, y’all. 23 days! I have to have all my gear bought and packed in that amount of time. C r a z y.
(If you want to help me purchase some of my gear, head on over to myregistry.com and type my name in. I have items ranging from $2 to $200, so feel free to help a girl out.)
But who knew that going into training camp for the World Race would require me to learn a list of vocab words?
Did you think “fly” meant what an airplane does? Wrong.
Did you think a “footprint” is what your shoe leaves in the mud? Wrong again.
How about “bottom loading”? Is that some kind of weird reference to the Queen song? Um, no. That is definitely wrong.
Just keep in mind you’re talking to a girl who has had her own room her whole life. Sure, I’ve gone camping, but only for a night or two (unless we were in a cabin). And I’ve never had to set up a tent in my life. I mean, what are dads for? Am I right?
Well, tonight my dad helped me figure out how to set up my gear, since I probably can’t call him from Zimbabwe to do it for me.

Also, just in case you’re still curious, a fly is what goes over your tent to keep the rain from coming in. A footprint is what goes between the ground and the floor of your tent to protect the floor of your tent and “bottom loading” refers to a pack that has straps to hold items underneath the actual bag.
So, all in all, preparing for training camp is going really well! I can’t wait to get back and tell y’all all about what I learned and how it went.

And another B I G announcement! I met my first goal of $5,000 B E F O R E the deadline of May 18th. How exciting is that?! Honestly, I did a happy dance.. or two. I could absolutely not have done it without each and every one of you.
Know that if you’ve bought a Go Ring, donated money, bought a shirt, thrown change in a WR jar or even simply prayed for me, you are an irreplaceable part of my team and I thank the Lord for you.
Please continue to keep me in your prayers and to follow my journey. My next goal is to have $10,000 raised by July 20th. That’s coming up so soon!
Also, keep an eye out for my next fundraiser!
It’s gonna be huge.
