I know it’s been awhile since I’ve written an update.
So what does life look like these days?
I’m currently working with a church called Iglesia Zoe. My team and I live in the church and work with the pastors, Rony and Esther. Ministry for us this month includes going to the elementary and middle schools (speaking to over 800 kids in total), evangelizing, attending church three times a week and sharing with the congregation, cleaning the church and praying for people, among many other things.
Rony and Esther have truly welcomed us in with open arms and treated us as their family. They treated us the first night to pizza; we eat all our meals together; we have devotional times together and we talk about all sorts of things. I never realized I could feel so at home in a tiny town in Honduras, but I truly do.
Even the families that attend this church invite us into their homes, cook for us and fellowship with us. It’s been such a sweet experience getting to know each of them.
One family even gave us a duck as a gift.
So what else is new?
In a couple days, my team and I head to an event called The Awakening. This is basically a two(ish) day conference full of training and ministry in which all the squads in a similar area attend together. We’ll be joined by a squad in month two and also a squad in month 11.
We will be traveling there on Thanksgiving and will return here on Sunday.
Also, I have a quick announcement.
I have 15 days left here in Honduras. In order to be able to go on to Africa next month, I need to raise $1,148 before I leave here. I know that we can do it!
In fact, the next three people that donate $100 are getting a gift from Africa!
Thank you so much for your support and prayers. It truly means the world to me.
