There is a trend now of choosing a word for the year. This word serves as a guide and meaning for what your individual year looks like. I am 100% behind this trend and have chosen a word for a few years now.

For 2020 my word is Victory. I had been thinking for a few weeks what my word would be and how it would correlate with all the new things coming in to this year.

I was at church this past Sunday when we were singing the song “See a Victory” by Elevation Worship and the Lord said Taylor that is your word for this year.

I recently spoke out about all of the trials in the last few years of my life. This year is about having victory over those and over all of the new things in my life.

The first line of the song I mentioned says “Im going to see a Victory.” and immediately the Lord reminded me that this year i’m going to see a victory. This year I am going to see hard things that turn into victories. I am going to have victories over every area of my life. I am going to see victory in fundraising and on the World Race. I know this because the next line in the song is ” Because the Battle belongs to you”. When I declare victory over my life I am acknowledging that the battle belongs to the Lord. I am giving Him complete control and reign over every area of my life so that I may experience Victory.

This life we live is a constant battle. Each of us are pursued daily by the enemy and we must choose every day to resist him and turn to Jesus. By declaring victory over your life you are telling the enemy that Jesus has already won. The enemy has no rule over you when you declare Jesus as victory.

With all of the things going on in our nation today I find it fitting that the Lord laid this on my heart. Every person reading this may have different views and opinions about the things going on but one thing remains true- Jesus has already won the battle. So in our spiritual life and our physical life Jesus has already won. So for all of us christians lets put down our fighting swords and declare victory over our lives. Lets just be Jesus. Lets choose victory so that the enemy knows he has NOT won.

Let us have a full year of declaring victory over every area of our lives. Jesus has already won the battle.
