Being a Christian is insane.
It’s literally the craziest thing.
We believe in a God we can’t see, and in His Son who was fully God and fully Man who walked the earth, lived a perfect life because we couldn’t, died a perfect death because we couldn’t and was raised to life defeating death and sin and Hell so that we could live through His Spirit inside of us and have a relationship with Him.
We talk to God.
We listen to Him talk back.
And we live through His Spirit.
If we are willing to look insane by saying we are Christian, why do we live as if we aren’t.
Why do people perceive being a Christian is so boring, INCLUDING US?
Why do we live such ordinary lives when we are extraordinary because of Christ living in us?
GOD STILL DOES MIRACLES YALL!
It’s not just a weird old testament myth.
He still speaks, heals, raises people from the dead and gives His children supernatural gifts.
In Guatemala, I had 3 teammates go to a school and watch God heal the principal of aching knees and a child of blindness.
In Africa we witnessed demons being cast out of individuals, in Jesus name, and begin walking in freedom.
In Nepal I watched God miraculously heal a man who was dying of attitude sickness.
In Malaysia I asked God for the gift of dreams and visions and a couple of weeks later I got my first one and they haven’t stopped coming.
I desired and asked God for the gifts of tongues and prophecy and since then I have been prophesied over twice that I am a prophet and this weekend I was baptized in the Spirit and received the gift of tongues.
YALL YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UP!
Being a Christian is freaking incredible.
That’s insane….
HECK YEAH IT’S INSANE. It’s the Spirit of God inside of us!
Extraordinary, extravagant, mysterious and exciting.
It’s not scary or weird because God is still a Father who cares, loves and is gentle. AND He sooooo desires to be more than the one who blesses our food or makes us feel warm during worship on Sunday mornings.
He WANTS to speak to us, love on us, guide us step by step, and have a freaking blast with us.
GOD IS NOT BORING!
So let’s stop living such boring lives.
Let’s actually slow down and take time to listen to His voice and walk in obedience through His Holy Spirit because I promise it’s the most exhilarating thing you could ever do!!
The adrenaline rush you get when you hear the Spirit of God speak to you, the feeling of your heart pounding out of your chest as you take the first step and the overwhelming joy that floods your whole body after you know you walked in obedience.
Wow guys!
I can’t explain it. You have to experience it for yourself.
I’m NOT telling you to quit your job, become a missionary and travel the world.
I AM telling you that you can be a missionary right where you are! To the people at work, in your neighborhood, at the grocery store, in your family, etc.
I lived the life of limiting my relationship with God to meals, bedtimes and Sunday mornings but THIS… this is so much more than I could have ever imagined.
It’s intimidating because it’s counter cultural.
It seems insane because it is.
But I can speak from firsthand experience that it’s worth it and I’m never going back!!
God’s not safe… BUT HE’S GOOD!
