Lord, what do you want me to blog about…?
Tell them about what you’ve been learning, Taylor.
Is it the blessings of switching to an all women’s team (that I truly was dreading)?
Serving along-side these six beautiful, strong-willed, confident women has showed me different aspects of You. Beautifully broken in Your grace, willing to love and serve because of how You’ve so shown them. I’ve learned how necessary the Church is, and this month, these women are my church. You have stretched me and challenged me through their stories.
Go on..
Is it the countless ways I’ve seen You answer such specific prayers?
From day one, we sat down to seek just want You’d have for us here in Batticaloa, praying specifically for a partnership with the local church. Not an hour later, You answered—allowing the seven of us to walk through an open gate into the loving arms of where we would find our church family for these past two weeks. We have partnered and encouraged the community only through Your divine appointment.
What else?
How about the hostel that we’ve been at?
You’ve brought us to what I can only imagine Eden would be like. You’ve blessed us with staff who know no end to serving, and who I also get to claim as my brothers and sisters in Christ. Your Presence is felt here, an atmosphere of peace in an otherwise barren area.
That’s not all..
What about the girls home we’ve been visiting?
These women that You’ve pulled from war torn homes, past hurts, and emotional and physical abuse and so graciously placed in our lap has brought about a compassionate tenderness and insatiable desire to tell them about Your Gospel. Thank You for allowing us to dance with them, laugh with them, craft and share meals with them. Continue to cater to their hearts long after were gone.
These are all my blessings given, tell them about your heart. Allow others in, to rejoice with you.
Lord, I am learning Your voice more clearly everyday; Your promptings starting as gentle nudges becoming more obvious each time I pay attention to Your Voice. And then, You led me to inner healing. You’ve brought me to the roots of my sinful patterns, You asked me to be vulnerable in a group of women that has yet to know me. You’ve asked me to confront my acts of service for rest in Your Spirit. To slow down and breathe You in, and with every exhale, releasing to You my deepest burdens and inhaling the grace and mercy You’ve so freely given. The first two months we did a lot of ministry, but I forgot my Source. I ran dry thinking that I still had ten months to go. Oh, how You’ve refreshed my soul here in the heart of Sri Lanka. Thank You for teaching me to be still. Continue to help me walk in this way, today and everyday.
