A couple years ago, I was a camp counselor, and our theme was “throwback.”  The verse we focused on was Psalm 66:5 – “Come and see what God has done; His awesome deeds for mankind.”

With our final fundraising deadline being only a week away (April 29) and having just over $3,000 to go, I couldn’t help but think of how incredibly awesome it is that God brought me this far.  I know that I am called to this mission, and I remember only having $3,600 at my first deadline, thinking, “How in the heck are we going to get to $17,700 when I can’t even reach my first goal?!”

Here I am.  Four months into the Race; nine months after saying, “Yes!” to the Lord for this journey.  God has given me $14,563, and my squad, in total, over $500,000.  This. Is. Nuts.  This is what crazy for the Lord looks like – raising and praying for funds and people to help us love the world and tell the Gospel!  I have no doubts that the Lord can and will give me $3,000 in 7 days.  He’s done it before and He’ll do it again!

Here’s some throwback moments to how faithful the Lord has been, not only in fundraising, but on the Race so far!

-After hitting a plateau in fundraising, I walked into work one day, and there was an envelope in my mailbox that said, “Taylor’s World Race Fund.”  There was $1,000 cash in it.  Thanks to whoever did that because it is still unknown!!

-Somehow, I have been given grace at each fundraising goal to keep going, even though I didn’t meet any of them on time.

-About a week after our $10,000 goal to be able to launch, I still needed $1,500.  I had been in contact with a donor for almost 2 months on how to get the funds to the proper place, and I received the check in the mail for that exact amount.

-I witnessed my first healing as my friend Kelly and I prayed away Malaria for a man we met in a village in Cote d’Ivoire.

-God in turn healed Kelly through me when I got to pray for her in Ghana after her heart condition flared up.

-We shared the gospel to 770 Muslims in West Africa.

-My monthly donors have stayed faithful, and one of them messaged me and said, “I feel like giving to you twice this month!” Seriously, little encouragements and services go a LONG way.

-In Cambodia, Kim and I taught Khmer kids English.  We had an entry level class who knew almost nothing, but we thought it’d be a disservice to not share the Gospel.  On our last day of sharing the Message with them, we just happened to have a translator in our classroom who could explain everything in Khmer while we spoke in English.

-My team dove head first into scripture to start out this month on what Godly community looks like, why it’s important, and what our roles are in doing this life together.  God is creating lasting relationships and discipling people to change the world!!

That was a fun blog to type!  The list could go on and on, and I’d love for it to continue with crazy fundraising stories!! Like I said, I only have 7 days until my final fundraising deadline, and just over $3,000 to go.  Ask the Lord what it looks like to give, and hit that donate button at the top of my page!  We are doing INCREDIBLE work with and for the Lord, and I’d love it if you’d be a part of it!  Thanks for reading!
