Month 5! We’re almost half way through the World Race!
This month looked a lot different for me than usual. Since being a raised – up squad leader (RSQL), I began our time in Myanmar with our leadership team in Yangon. My team (team UP – Unrelenting Pursuit 🙂 of RSQLs received training from our alumni squad leaders (ASQLs) and our squad mentor to be better equipped to lead the squad after our ASQLs leave at the end of the month! It was quite the privilege to be surrounded by incredible people and receive their wise words and gifts.
I went out on the field with 2 of my ASQLs for part of training, and we traveled 22 hours up to Hahka. It is a little town nestled in the mountains, and is incredibly chilly and beautiful. We jumped in with team BARE (bold and relentless edge) and helped teach English. My class was 5 – year – olds who were outrageously smart and adorable. We shared a Bible story each day, and my fellow teachers and I said it, drew it, and acted it out. We were all belly – laughing each day we shared. When I asked the kids if they knew God the first day, one of the kids blurts, “God is our refuge and strength and ever – present help in trouble.” Obviously, the Lord is doing amazing things at that school!

It’s quite incredible how the Lord equips you for something, even when you doubt His plans. The discernment I received in my short time pouring into team BARE was kind of shocking. At times, I had no idea what I had said or where it came from, but I guess that’s the power of the Spirit for ya. My heart is all about community and pursuing people, and the Lord for sure delivered in using me to do just that. I’m super stoked for the upcoming months and to grow in leadership as I follow the Lord.
