My team and I traveled 44 hours to get here.

And just today I was confused as to why we sleep all the time.

ANYWAY,

WE’RE HEEERRRRE! We’re in Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire, partnering with a local church that does trucker ministry. It sounds like the weirdest thing, but it’s been super humbling and so cool to be a part of.

We meet the congregation at a truck stop, and this beautiful woman (we just call her “mama” because I can never understand what they say after that) cleans our seats and serves us drinks. We have a church service right there in the parking lot, praying and singing over our ministry. It’s seriously just the coolest thing to sit around a table with people who we don’t know and can’t talk to but worship the Lord all the same.

Then, we go. We walk around and meet guys from all over West Africa who drive truck. Pretty much all of them are Muslim. This is the coolest thing: WE GET TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT JESUS. They have such cool stories and backgrounds and families, and then we get to hit home with the gospel and how Jesus has impacted our own lives. And you know what? Even if they don’t care about us, they heard Jesus’s name, and sometimes even ask more about Him. It’s the craziest thing to talk to people who are so committed to their god but are so intrigued by this Jesus who calls them by name and loves unconditionally.

I’ve really appreciated seeing God’s work and heart in such a different place, and in a totally different population of people. His work is done in literally any way that He wants. He’ll reach people however He wants, through the people He wants.
