Hello World! If you’ve ventured so far as to read my blog then you must want to know something about who I am.. and I would be happy to share!
I am 21 years old and live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado which is a small suburb just south of Denver. I am currently a senior at Regis University where I play collegiate soccer. I will graduate in May of 2017 with a double major in Religious Studies and Spanish with a Graduate Certificate in Development Practices. i come from a large family where I am the oldest of four girls. I love to play soccer, ski, snowboard and spend time outdoors. I have a great passion for service and international development which means that the World Race is the perfect next step for me!
When I was in 6th grade, my parents took me on my first mission trip to Nicaragua, where we spent a week doing physical repairs on a building that was supposed to serve as a medical clinic. After that week, the Lord called my parents to establish a non-profit in Colorado that supports this medical clinic on an ongoing basis. In short, I spent a great deal of my childhood learning what poverty really looks like. In this time the Lord gave me a heart for international service. It is clear to me now that my involvement in Nicaragua was God’s way of preparing me and leading me to the life he has set out for me. In this way, I have a huge passion for mission work, which lead me to study Religion and Spanish and ultimately to the World Race!
I knew I wanted to go on the World Race when I was a sophomore at Regis, about two years ago. However, I knew that I needed to finish school before I set out on this great adventure. The past two years I have been patiently (or trying to be patient anyways) waiting for the right time, and finally that time is here! I am so excited to see what the next year holds for me, and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Starting in August of 2017 I will be spending 11 months traveling to 11 different countries serving the Lord and people all over the world! Each month I will travel to a new country, all of which include: India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia.
I am so grateful for all of your support,
Taylor
