Welcome to my life on Wednesday October 25th

7:00am wake up in the oasis (aka our sleeping room with A/C and a few less bugs than outside) I cuddle up in my sleeping bag because the cool air is just SO GOOD.

7:00-8:00am quiet time. I’m reading the Gospel of John.

8:00am PJ picks us up in the silver bullet, the giant van we ride around in.

9:00am arrive at school for English camp. Are we qualified to teach English? Yes, luckily the only qualification we have is that we speak English!

9:00-10:30am think up as many games and songs as we can. Play monkey ball, 4 corners & sing songs about creation/ a giant hippo. This must be what it feels like to be a camp counselor.

10:30-11:00am preform David & Goliath skit. Are kids laughing at the story or our acting? I’ll let you decide.

11:00-12:00 “teach” English. we Consider ourselves successful because the kids remember the 4 words we taught in an hour. Count it as a win when the kids sit quietly to draw pictures of their family.

12:00-1:00pm eat a delicious lunch made with love by PA (PJ’s amazing wife).

1:30pm relay races & further none sense.

1:30-2:30pm field trip! Pretend to be camp counselor & take 9 students walking around town to learn English words.

3:00pm leave school (sad)

3:10pm impromptu photo shoot on the side of the road because 1. Thailand is gorgeous & 2. We’re foreigners, it’s what we do. “Frangs in a cow cow garden”

3:30pm (yes the photo shoot lasted a whole 20 minutes, we were in a rice field) stop for banana roti on the side of the road. The best way I can describe banana roti is a crepe/French toast with bananas. Honestly words don’t do it justice, it’s delicious.

4:00-5:30pm guitar practice.

6:00-9:00pm fellowship/worship with the believer. Pray over a 99 year old man & receive hand made dress as a gift.

9:00-10:30pm lay in my hammock & look at the stars while eating an entire sleeve of Oreos.

10:30-11:30pm spent time with my team.

11:30pm-1:00am band practice/ screw around with Jess on the guitar. I’m playing a janky electric guitar because why not? (Shout out to you JLo for being the best guitar teacher & friend)

1:07am hit the sleeping pad & pass the heck out.

Tomorrow? Who knows  everyday is adventure in Thailand. And it’s awesome.
