Here’s what a my day looked like today!
7:05 alarm is goes off & its time to get up. I’m actually excited to get up because I get to talk to Connor today!
7:15 get ready for the day and realize that I only have one outfit, the same outfit I wore yesterday. Took all my clothes to the laundromat and forgot to keep a clean shirt.
7:20 yes it takes me 5 minutes to get ready. I don’t look in the mirror, throw my dirty clothes on and brush my teeth outside. Make lunch- peanut butter, honey & banana sandwich. Shout out to you dad cause I know that sandwich is your fav!
7:25 walk to coffee shop & order oatmeal with a coffee.
7:45 talk to Connor on the phone!! Makes me equally happy and sad. Happy cause talking to him is awesome, sad cause I miss him and won’t see him for 9 more months.
8:45 talk to mom & dad. Equally happy and sad emotions continue, I’m realizing that the changing of seasons (or lack there of for me) is making me homesick.
9:25 walk 2 miles to ministry. Sweat a lot. See some dead goats sliced up on the side of the road. (A festival is beginning and one of the traditions is to sacrifice black goats. Awesome!)
10:00 kids camp starts! This week were running a 6 hour day camp for the kids who live at our ministry site.
10:20 songs and games.
11:00 Cristin teaches a killer bible lesson about Mary anointing Jesus with oil.
11:30-12:30 play with legos. All the kids are very busy with their own creations, so shamelessly I make my own lego house complete with a basketball hoop, hot tub and fire pit.
12:30 SNACK TIME
1:30 more songs and games. I hit my afternoon slump and I get reallllll tired.
2:30 play time outside. Soccer, jumprope, and other Nepali games that I still don’t understand. Get a little dirty because dirt & rocks are flying through the air.
4:00 kids camp ends. Walk 2 miles home at a brisk pace, we’re tired and hungry.
4:45 Jess checks my hair again for lice. I’m in the clear!!
5:00 pick up laundry. Hallelujah for clean clothes! I even had my sleeping bag liner and pillow washed. It was absolutely worth the $12 I splurged on it.
5:30 go to Evoke, the local cafe and bistro where my squad and I live.
5:49 write current blog post. You’re welcome world!
Plans for the rest of the night: Try to find dinner for under $2. Baby wipe “shower”. Spend time with my team. Eat Oreos? (hopefully)
Tomorrow: Repeat
