At the beginning of this month we got new teams! Our team name is T.A.M.M.Y. The Adventurous Missionaries Magnifying Yahweh. There is no coincidence that it spells out the name of our squad mentor, Tammy Moye.

I’m glad to be with this all star line up for the next few months. This past month in Uganda has been filled with a lot of fun and growth. Christmas time away from home was hard, but we had a great time serving our community in Kampala and having our own Christmas party.

Here‘s some quick insight into who my teammates are and what we did on Christmas.

Frieda Renee

Lovingly known as Frieds Mcgeeds, Frieda is fearless and passionate. This past month I’ve seen her use her skills and talents to love many kids and women well while also investing a lot into her teammates. Her sneezes always scare me and she also has a sweet tooth like none other!

Riley

Ry-dog, Riger, Larry… a very talented artist who has many nicknames. Riley has a servants heart like no other and is always looking for ways to serve her team and ministry. This month I’ve seen her openly let the lord use her skills to teach kids art and help develop the floor plan for our ministry’s yogurt factory. She’s always up for any kind of unique adventure and is intentional about sharing Christ in those adventures.

Alicia

“Leash” is the bomb-dot-com. She’s our treasurer and she rocks that role, but she’s so much more! Her tea kettle laugh brings all of us so much joy and she’s probably the person that makes me laugh the most.

Brandon

Brandog is intelligent and is always up for answering questions about the Bible. The discernment and answers he brings to the team are always well thought out. But don’t let the glasses fool you, he is also very genuine and funny. Two of his main skills are: solving a rubics cube wicked fast and remixing songs on the spot with his own words or phrases. Those always crack me up. Thankful to have such a stand up guy on this team.

Tom

Tom-shark. My long time teammate and friend. He still is a boi. Humble, encouraging and generous, Tom is a great listener and is always using his words to build others up. He has an ability to see those that are unseen and takes time to be interruptible and show them love. I’ve seen him grow in many ways in the 5 months we’ve been on a team. This past month I saw him step up in leading through prayer and service.

We started off our day with reading the Christmas story, some excellent pancakes and French toast, and then some prayer. Then we made some rice and beans and donned our Santa hats to go out and spread some Christmas cheer. It was a fun time as we walked around singing Christmas carols and handing out food to those around us.

Once the food was gone we all headed back to have some of our own festivities. With reindeer games, white elephant exchange, secret Santa exchange, and an awesome dinner we had quite the successful Christmas Day. Plus we all got to call our families.

So from my team to you, we would like to wish you all a (late) Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
