For the past two days, I’ve had the incredible blessing of attending the Global Leadership Summit. It has been a time of immense convictions and inspirations and I am only at the beginning of my grasp of these lessons. There will be more to share, but there is something that is just stirring inside of me that I need to get out. My friend Elisabeth says she gets this feeling when she writes sometimes – I finally know what she feels. There’s this power in my thoughts that I have no other choice but to let out through writing. Today, Bill Hybels said, “When you find your purpose, you will feel it in your toes.” Right now I feel it in my fingers. As I’m typing, my hands are shaking with energy. I imagine that there are words inside my fingers and with every click of the keyboard, the words are escaping to be used by God to give hope and to stir to action.
Here it is:
There’s a grander vision for your life and only God is the one that supplies that. When He supplies it, we need to have faith that He will accomplish what He’s called us to do – no matter how big or daunting it is. When He calls you to do something, do it. Not out of dread of the consequences, but because He has put desires in our hearts for a purpose.
We need to allow our faith in Him to consume and overwhelm us to the point where there’s nothing else we can do but to follow His plan. When He gives us a revelation or a plan or a purpose or calling (whatever you choose to call it), JUST DO IT!
If we don’t work out this plan or purpose, we are cutting off our line of influence and not allowing God to use our desires to stir others to action.
YOUR LIFE COULD BE A RIPPLE, A CATALYST OF CHANGE.
We should be living every day as if there’s nothing else that matters but to love God and to make His name known to every person in the world. When we’re doing that, we are truly living our lives. I believe we’re all created to bring God glory. We don’t live in fear or in shame, but we live in the knowledge that His love is greater than all of our circumstances. We live in the knowledge and the conviction – the deep, strong conviction – that He loves us no matter what. That His grace is deeper and stronger and bigger and all-encompassing than anything we could ever grasp. That no matter what we do, He will always love us and accept us.
That’s the message He’s given me, and my purpose is to declare that through my actions and my words.
My story is worth sharing. I’m going to allow His plan and His purpose to be made known through me and I will allow Him to use my story however He desires. If that means going to the middle of nowhere, away from the comforts of the United States, I will gladly go because He has placed this desire in my heart and it’s too big to keep inside. He’s too big to be kept in St. Louis, Missouri.
Everyone needs to know this message of grace. All need to know that there is NOTHING that we can do that will EVER separate us from the love of God (Romans 8). There’s nothing that we could ever do to make us any less loved or excepted by our Heavenly Father. His love is greater than we could ever feel. And His purposes are more incredible than we could ever imagine.
I will gladly spend the rest of my life sharing Truth – God’s love is so real. His acceptance can never be earned. And His grace never runs out.
When I looked at the hurting world, I was so overwhelmed. I asked the question, “God, what can I do?” I didn’t know what He was going to say or what passion He was going to lay on my heart. But He laid out the World Race for me. The World Race is deeper than just a desire to see the world. The people of this world need HOPE. They need to know there is a God who loves them so much that He DIED for them. That’s what He has purposed for me.
Pastor Wilfredo De Jesus spoke at the Global Leadership Summit today and said, “If you’re not going to do anything about the answer, don’t ask the question.”
God WILL not leave the questions unanswered when you ask Him what you can do to serve others and make this world better. I know He will tell you to love your neighbor (Mark 12:31) and to go, disciple, and share the truth of Jesus (Matthew 28:19). He may tell you to do this overseas or to your neighbor next door. He may tell you to give money to a family in need or He may tell you to give your money to enable a missionary. Only you can know what He is calling you to do.
But if you ask Him, be ready for the answer, and don’t quit. Pastor Wilfredo also said, “Revelation comes with responsibility.” When God gives you a plan, make it happen (through Him so that you can’t boast).
