I think it’s important to reflect and ask yourself, why is it that you’re doing something.

So I was taking time to think and here are some reasons why I want to go on the World Race.

1. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to use my life to help people. And that is exactly what we will do on the World Race. Helping and serving those in need. Just loving people because people deserve to know the Love of God.

2. I know that there is a LOT that I don’t know. About life, about God, about people, about compassion, about our fears, about what’s going on around the world in other countries, you name it. And I want to have first hand experiencing it. I want to learn more, first hand. I want to discover and see life in a whole new way!

3. For my relationship with God. I want to grow in my faith and trust. I want to see him move in ways I’ve never seen before. I was reading this book and it talked about how we want to see God move in new ways but we are doing the same things. To see God move in new ways, we need to get out of our comfort zone. We need to be put in new situations. I’m not perfect and there’s a lot I need to grow in! I know going on the World Race won’t make me perfect and fix every fault I have, but I DO know it will change me and I won’t come out of it the same!

4. People are hurting. You look around the world and you see it everywhere. From school shootings, depression, suicide, war, murder, betrayal, etc. And you can blame a lot of things and point fingers at whoever can be blamed. But what it comes down to is that people are hurting, that is the root. People are pushing God out and we are suffering the consequences. I want to be the person who doesn’t just hear about these things and say “wow, that is sad”. I want to be the person who does something about it. People need to know the Love of Jesus because that is what’s going to save humanity. I want to speak love not just with my voice but my actions.

5. I don’t want to just live a mediocre life doing what everyone else is doing. I don’t want to just do what is easy.

6. I was given an opportunity to make a difference and I took it. I was given an opportunity to live one of my dreams and although stepping into something totally new as this and the unknown, I took it. And if I said it doesn’t scare me a little bit, I’d be lying. But isn’t that the point of dreaming big? If our dreams don’t scare us, we are dreaming too small. We have a God who can do the impossible. A God who has placed big dreams inside of us that are impossible for us to do…on our own. But with Him, oh He can take us places we never thought we could go doing things we never thought we could do! And all the glory goes to Him!

So those are some reasons why I am doing the World Race.

Much Love, T.
