Ineffable;(a) too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.
This is the word that best fits how I feel about all the support & encouragement I have received on this journey of the World Race and I haven’t even officially left yet.
So I just wanted to write a blog attempting to express my thankfulness to you.
To have people come along side of you during one of the most important parts of your life yet, encouraging you & praying for you, is so important. You are the unsung heroes of this!
It makes a world of difference to know that I’ll have people back in the states rooting for me & praying for me and believing what God is going to do through this adventure, is so comforting and empowering. So thank-you. From the bottom of my heart to the top of Mt Everest (idk if that makes sense but I already said it sooo), thank-you.
This is one of those “huge moments in life” for me. And to have people around you encouraging you and just being a support whether it was commenting on my posts, reaching out with encouraging words, praying, giving financially, sharing my posts, being excited with me, celebrating with me, etc. Please know none of it has gone unnoticed and I have really appreciated it and it’s been a saving grace.
One thing is, I don’t want people who have supported me to think they donated to help me go on a vacation. That is not what this is. Yes, I’ll get to see beautiful parts of the world and get to do amazing things, but I also will be going into difficult places and see difficult situations. I know there will be hard times and maybe times I’ll want to give up or question what I got myself into. Just being real. But I think that is all part of the beautiful thing we call embracing humanity. There are valuable things that can only be taught through pain. But through it, there is a whole lot of beauty.
If you only ever do what is easy, you’re cheating yourself from experiencing some of the greatest most beautiful parts of what it truly means to live and be alive.
There is a song called : “Sing my way back” by Steffany Gretzinger and there is this part of the song that ALWAYS sticks out to me and it’s this:
“If we’re not falling, we’re not flying You can’t have love without the pain” |
Which I’m not quite sure why but I LOVE that. I think maybe it’s cause I think it’s so true. Think about it: flying is a beautiful, exciting, exhilarating experience. You see things differently, with a better vantage point. There is so much JOY through it all.
And obviously she isn’t using this as in literally flying, it’s a metaphor for living life. And what better way to live life than soaring and seeing the most beautiful parts of it cause when you’re at a certain level (perspective) you see things at a better view.
But with that, there is still pain, hard times, and difficult things. Jesus didn’t promise a perfect pain free life. He knew there would be hard times but He has overcome it and He promises to never leave us. (John 16:33).
So when she says “If we’re not falling, we’re not flying. You can’t have love without the pain”. If there are no difficult/hard times, are we truly living?
It takes love to step into people situations and sometimes that is really difficult to see people suffer the way they do, especially in the countries we will be going to. But you can’t love without the pain. But Jesus is WITH us through it all!
And in the end, He turns it beautiful. In the end, He makes it all right. He redeems it all.
You can’t expect to see some of the most beautiful parts of life without running into some difficult things along the way. But I can promise you it is worth it because Jesus promises that it’s worth it. Jesus understood that more out of anyone because He loved us the greatest, so much so He went to the cross for us. Which was painful. But three days later He rose & it caused for the most joyful day in history.
You can’t have love without the pain.
So with all that being said, let me tie this up before I go off on a whole other trail haha. I wanted to share this and talk about the “difficult parts/pain” because not many people talk about this side of going after your dreams! But I don’t think it’s anything we should be afraid of because well, I already explained my thoughts about it. (Wow I just stopped myself from repeating myself, that’s a first haha!)
A N Y W H O I just wanted to say : Thank you for being a part of causing me to find a better word to express my thankfulness: Ineffable.
Thank-you for being part of this exciting journey. We’ve only just begun! So make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss anything!
Much love, T.
