Lately, God is opening the Bible up to me in new ways. Every single line has revelation, and I’m beginning to notice this and desiring to go deeper. I want so much to understand all of what I’m reading. So often, we get used to these passages in scripture and we don’t even really  PONDER and ask what they actually mean. In the past couple of weeks, I’ve been reading in Matthew. Jesus spoke in so many parables, and sure they have meanings that we’ve always been taught, but I can’t help but feel there is something more. For instance, Matthew 15:21-28. This is the passage about the faith and persistence of the Gentile woman. Sure its a lesson in faith and perseverance, but there’s got to be MORE. What other reasons did Jesus have to ignore her, and then say “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs” Okay, so basically is He calling her a dog? WHY?

(UPDATE: after talking with my mom, got revelation on this story of the Gentile woman. Jesus used the gentile woman as a type of person who is not in relationship with Him and who would not necessarily get answers to prayer the same way a believer in relationship to God would)

And then, the passage about Jesus and the fig tree. What does that symbolically stand for, for him to curse it so it wouldn’t bear fruit?

Then, you have the parable of the 10 bridesmaids in chapter 25. What significance does the oil hold? We’ve always been taught that this is a lesson in being prepared for Christ’s return, but there’s something MORE to this. Extra oil vs just enough? And why was the door LOCKED when they returned?

I have these questions and many more. I’m just asking the Holy Spirit to open up these things and give me fresh revelation. There’s so much to the Bible that we miss! So many intricacies and deeply woven meanings that tell us even more than our physical body realizes. Our spirit gets it, but I think they key is to learn how to fully engage your spirit so that the revelations can be continuously unlocked.

Does this make sense?

I would just like to ask for prayer. Prayer that the Holy Spirit would unveil some of these mysteries to me.

And in return, I pray that the eyes of your heart will also be opened to these revelations, but more than that, that your physical body will start to hunger for the Word like your spiritual body hungers.

Update:

I keep hearing people talk about being “more than conquerors”. Okay, so what is MORE than a conqueror? Clearly you’re not just a conqueror. I was discussing this with one of my squad leaders this morning, and I believe the Holy Spirit opened up more insight into this for us. What we realized was basically this:

We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Love is the key.

Perfect love casts out all fear. Fear brings doubts and insecurities and keeps us from the plan the Lord has for us as well as our identity. When His love invades us, fear has no where to go. At this point of grasping His love, we are called into our identity. So we become more than a conqueror- we become owners, heirs- stewards of something. We have all the rights of a son. We have become stakeholders in something.

And, whats more: once we conquer something, we don’t have to battle it again. Because now we own it. No more fighting.

We don’t realize the power that is ours to have. Ask God to show you. Show you His love- I really believe experiencing His love is the foundation of everything.
