Living a Spirit filled lifestyle was not a way of life I was used to living before coming on the World Race. There had been a few moments before the race that I could recognize the Holy Spirit but those moments were not sought out after or prayed for. I never asked the Spirit to show up, but because I am loved by the King, His Spirit was always chasing after me. Coming onto the race, with my very reserved church background, I wanted to see what being lead by the Spirit could look like.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
There has been many times I have asked the Spirit to lead me, there has been times that I have felt nothing and times I have felt the tingles, seen the sights, and felt all the feels.
Holy Spirit can be surface level, or deeper than the deepest oceans. I’ve seen the Spirit show me words through reading the Bible, listening to music, and speaking with my fellow squad mates. I’ve felt the Spirit change the atmosphere of a worship session, come into a group listening prayer activity, and I have seen the Holy Spirit lead my squad mates and myself to His people. His broken people in need of healing, in need of encouragement and in need of a laugh and a blissful smile. I have watched my parents experience Holy Spirit at their Parent Vision Trip in Nicaragua. I’ve seen the Holy Spirit completely rock my world along with many other lives that I have met along my journey and lives I have lived with for the past nine months.
The realness. The TRUTH. Jesus.
I started this blog wanting to tell you a story of when my parents were with me at PVT. About a lady whose family, my family and I had to honor to help with their run down home, a lady we met on a Spirit led prayer walk. A lady who had been praying for seven plus years for a group from the center we were at in Nicaragua to come and help with their home repairs, because she used to work there she knew people came to help people. A lady that my heart still aches for and whose family I absolutely adore. A lady we were able to spend $26 to put in a water line to give her water for the first time in her palm tree hut, and a new roof to replace the leaky roof for her parents, all because the Lord sent us to her through His Spirit. My direction went towards sharing of the Holy Spirit instead of Nancy, because…well I asked the Spirit to give me the words to type so I followed.
I do not know everyones view of the Holy Spirit. Its not my job to convince you of The Holy Spirit, but I can share you the truth of my experiences and pray that your hearts and minds will be opened to all the goodness the Spirit carries and releases.
