The question that I get most often regarding my faith is, “Why?”. People ask me, “Why is your faith so important to you?”, “Why do you carry a Bible?”, “Why do you wear that shirt?”, or most often, “Why do you?believe in God?”

My answer to these why questions lies in a profoundly simple answer: I have found my joy and fulfillment in the greatest love story there ever was, told by the all powerful creator of the universe, to all creation and now I have been given the unique and awesome opportunity to show that love to people all over the globe.
After many promptings and lots of prayer and research, I am thrilled to announce that God has pointed me toward Adventures in Missions (AIM) and led me to be a part of The World Race: Gap Year 2015 route C heading to Guatemala, Malaysia and Botswana!

I feel so blessed to be given the opportunity to be part of such an amazing organization and program, and to get to travel to Guatemala, Malaysia and Botswana with some of the greatest people the country has to offer!

Over the past few months I have begun my preparation doing different things ranging from buying some of the equipment I still need to beginning the fundraising process! The most exciting part of the preparation process for me has been getting to meet, talk, make and develop new friendships! As my group has begun talking we began to see that people are coming from all different places and walks of life. Many of my teammates happen to be in college already and I am the youngest one on my squad! I will be turning 18 on September 15, 2015 which is only 11 days after we leave. These little details have brought all of us so close together. The most exciting, and sad, portion of our journey together, so far, was when we learned what countries we would be going to. The same day that we were told we would be going to Guatemala, Malaysia and Botswana many people were moved in and out of our squad and this continued to happen in the days that followed. It was hard to see some of the people that I had gotten close to leave, but at the same time I was given peace knowing that Gods plan was very much in motion in their lives.

I am so thrilled to be see what the next year has in store! God has amazing plans for all of our lives and I can’t wait to see what this portion of my life will hold. I feel so blessed to get to even be posting this blog right now, let alone travel the world for nine months to spread the love of God.
