Training camp was so much more than just another average week of camp. During this past week of training camp going into it and arriving in Georgia I was so nervous about meeting everyone and that no one would like me. When I finally arrived and met everyone I knew that God was watching over me the entire time and I was so excited to see what the rest of the week would be like! This week I learned even more how much our Lord God can do so much for us even in just one short week of being with him and being with so many young adults around me that have so much love that they want to share with our God. Going through out the week we got to learn so many things about the different countries and the different things that we will encounter within the next 9 months. Eating all sorts of different foods, learning about the cultures that we will have to deal with and how we can respect them.
God truly broke me and many others down just for us to be built back up by him in his love. The way that God can take the pain out of your heart and heal you completely from your past is one amazing thing. The holy spirit can guide you in so many ways to a way of healing that is just for you, that’s what happened this week. I am in the process of being healed by the holy spirit. Many a times I have felt like God wasn’t there with me every step of the way but more than ever I learned this week that he is there and he can show me so many signs that can help me and others around me. The holy spirit was able to speak through me and help out a few people this week, and that is enough for me. The way that even I was able to be broken down was more than amazing. I was able to confront things from my past that I have been talking about for years now and to be able to have people say that they will be with me through it all and knowing that God is helping me through it is all a person could need. Being able to trust in a group of people that you have just met is life changing.
Just a few adventures that we had encountered over the week consisted of sleeping in tents, going on a group camping trip and sleeping in a bus with our team. That was just the sleeping. The food was definitely indescribable and definitely gross at sometimes, from eating with our hands, to sitting on the ground, everything was an adventure. Our morning workouts were definitely not a favorite. One of my favorite mornings was when my new friend Jesse and I got to lead yoga for our squad one morning which was definitely a crowd favorite.
I can’t explain how excited I am to spend the next 9 months with my amazing squad of God loving amazing people. I can’t wait to share it with all of you as well!
