Dear friends and family,
Have you ever been stuck in a rut? Have you ever been in a situation where everything you are doing seems meaningless? That is how the entire year of 2015 felt for me. I loved attending Shorter University, but I no longer loved my major. I loved being just forty-five minutes away from my closest family and friends, but I was longing for more. I just didn’t know what. So I took a leap of faith, and took a semester off of college. I got a full time job, and spent every free moment praying that God would show me what my life is missing. I prayed that He would show me the direction that would bring my life meaning and fulfillment.
This finally came to me. After months of crying, and begging for the Lord to show me His will for my life, He led my heart to the World Race. The World Race is an eleven-month mission trip around the world. I applied for the January 2017 route, which would bring me to Mozambique, Swaziland, Madagascar, Mongolia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, China, Bangladesh, India, and Nepal. After an online interview and then phone interview, I was accepted. My heart is now full. My life now has meaning. I believe God’s will for my life is to bring His name, His glory, His grace, and His love, to every nation.
I have decided to give up the comforts of my everyday life, to chase God around the globe. But I can’t do it without you. You all sent me to Haiti in October of 2014, and I am so happy to say that I am fully funded to go back to Haiti at the end of May. However, I now need y’alls support more than ever. The World Race is eleven months, compared to the one week I was gone for Haiti. I will need your prayers, love, and guidance. Not only will I need emotional support, I will need financial support as well. In order for me to be able to travel the world, and tell everyone that will listen about our Heavenly Father, I have to raise $17,417 before April of 2017. When I first saw this number, I felt defeated. And then I remembered that if this is God’s will for my life, then I would find a way!
My precious grandparents have already helped me come up with so many ways for me to raise the money. Craft fairs, booths at festivals, support letters, car washes, donut sales, bracelets, and t-shirts are just a few of the ideas we have come up with. If you feel led to give, there are two easy ways. The first way is a check made out to Adventure in Missions. In the memo line, please write “DUNNTAYLOR”. Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 742570 ?Atlanta, GA 30374-2570. The second way is to visit my blog, taylordunn.theworldrace.org and click “support me”. Through my blog, you can choose how much you would like to donate, and whether you want to be a one time, monthly, quarterly, or annual donor. All donations are tax deductable.
Adventures In Missions is a tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(3) and is a member of the ECFA. (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability). Due to IRS and ECFA regulations governing the administration of tax deductible donations given in support of a particular trip/program, support contributions given on behalf of an individual will be used to offset the costs of the trip/program you are involved in. All contributions are non-refundable regardless of the participant’s success in completing the program.
I realize I am asking for a lot. I know that $17,417 is a lot of money. However, think of all the good that it will bring. With this money, I will teach children English. I will teach them how much God loves them. I will dig wells and trenches. I will paint walls and buildings. I will do whatever the people need me to do. I will be the hands and feet of Jesus. I will be on the adventure of a lifetime, and it is all thanks to you. Please consider supporting me. When I say that any little bit matters, I truly mean that. I pray that with your support, I will be able to live out the dream that God has for my life. Thank you for everything you have done, and continue to do for me.
With love,
Taylor Dunn
