Questions to ask me when I get home.

I know you want to know all about the last eleven months. Below are just some good starter questions. I have separated different questions for each country. Please feel free to ask me other questions!!! I want to be asked questions, no matter how weird, deep, or silly.  Feel free to ask me in any way — blog comments, emails, phone calls, face to face. I want to answer all of the questions.

What is your favorite country?

This question can have so many different answers, but country favorite, well for the country, I loved Malaysia. The whole time in the month, every person I met was extremely friendly, warm, inviting, and helpful. You can experience so many different cultures and religions within Malaysia. Malaysia also has a lot of natural beauty to see, from caves, to elephants, I simply didn’t have enough time in Malaysia.

What was your favorite ministry?

My favorite ministry was ChildVoice International, in Lukodi, Uganda. It is about a 30-45 minute drive from Gulu. We lived on a giant compound in the bush. We were taught how to be a Ugandan woman. We learned how to plant seeds, harvest, collect water(and carry it on our heads), how to carry babies on our backs. How to laugh, sing, dance, love and build relationships with women who spoke a completely different language.

What was the craziest/adventurous thing you did?

I think the most adventurous thing I did this year would be in Uganda. In Uganda I rafted the Nile River with three of my teammates, two men from Paris, and a pilot and a flight attendant from Belgium. It was absolutely amazing.

What was the hardest thing you experienced?

One night while trying to find a restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, we stumbled onto a red light street. I had not see prostitution in that way. We went from a quiet and normal street, to women standing on the corners and outside of bars. I will never forget the face of the first woman I saw that night. As soon as you turned off that road you would see children sleeping alone on the side of the street as their mothers would be working all night.

What country’s food did you like the most?

India, I absolutely love Indian food!!! I did not expect to like it. Plus, our host Mone could cook!
