Thanksgiving
So I spend my thanksgiving in Pokhara Nepal with about 40 people; some I’ve known for a few months, some I just met that day. We went to an orphanage to have a thanksgiving feast! One of my squad mate moms church’s partners with the orphanage and, just so happened to be there the same time we were here.
It was so much more than a blessing to me. I teared up multiple times thinking about how grateful I was to have this opportunity. We had American style thanksgiving, which in the past I have taken for granted the food itself and that time with our families. This year I didn’t have the luxury of being with my family or being in the comfort of my home or going Black Friday shopping. But this year I was more thankful for an American style thanksgiving and being around my new World Race family than I have ever been. For the past month I’ve been eating the same 3 meals every day and it’s good, I just miss variety. Then having m&m’s, fruit roll ups, stuffing, rolls, and turkey was not only wonderful but it filled my stomach and my soul!
So here are 10 things I am thankful for, just to say a few. I hope this comes to you and you can reflect on all the things your thankful for in your everyday life. Because no matter where you are in the world or what your situation is, you can always find the light in things and be thankful for something.
1. My Team and my World Race family
2. My family back at home
3. My ministry this month even though it’s been hard
4. The thanksgiving meal I ate
5. Our squad leaders for loving us so well
6. Being in the Himalayan mountains
7. The terrifying bus ride I have to take to go to town or back up
8. The community I live in even though it can be challenging at times
9. Wifi when I can get it, sometime it’s very hard to fine and it very frustrating when it doesn’t work
10. And finally the thing I’m most thankful for is my relationship with the Lord, He continually challenging me and growing me into the woman I’ve always wanted to be.
I love all of you ! Thank you for playing such a part of my journey and I am beyond grateful for all of you! Thank you for everything!
