Hi my name is Taylor and I’m 25 years old. Thanks for following my blog and supporting me along this journey. Let me tell you a little bit more about me:

I was raised by two loving parents, Chuck and Sissy, and I’m the eldest sibling to my younger sister, Bailey.

I graduated from high school in 2009, then attended a local college in my home town. After a year there, I realized that college just wasn’t for me, I knew that God had a bigger plan for my life. At the time I was very uncertain of what I wanted, but I knew what ever I was going to do, I would need money. So I started working at a bank while I was searching for something more. Through my job I made some friends who told me about a church they attend that was just north of where I lived so I decided I would go and try it out. There I made some very strong connections with not only new friends but also a newly formed relationship with God. After about a year of going to this church I found an internship opportunity at a church in Oklahoma. I had never even been to Oklahoma but something about it felt right, so I packed up and moved to Oklahoma city and started a 2 year internship at the Church of The Harvest. During my time as an intern I worked/ministered mostly with in inner city youth, and youth programs. After my 2 years as an intern were up, the church asked me to stay and become a full time staff member, and I ended up staying 2 more years.

The work I was doing at the church was a temporary job, so when the position ended I tried to find new work, but I was having the worst luck. I was down on my rent, I had no internet or cable, I could barley afford to feed my self, and on top of all of that I got into a wreck that made my car un-drivable. Then in the winter of 2014, my grandmother became very ill and was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer. I decided that all of this was a sign it was time for me to move home.

That summer I got a job at the Salvation Army managing their summer youth program. When the summer ended, I got a job working at an elementary school in their before and after school program, which is where I work currently.

Although I love my job very much and I truly enjoy the work I do, I know God still has bigger plans for me. I have been dreaming about doing the World Race for years, but the timing never seamed right or I didn’t think it was attainable so I put the idea in the back of my head. That was until recently, I started to think about doing this again and now the timing couldn’t be more perfect. I finally feel Gods calling, and I know this is the perfect opportunity for me and I couldn’t be more excited to start my journey in October.
