As I was speaking to a few family members about the amount of money I need to raise to go on the World Race, one family member asked why I am not taking out a loan to cover the costs of going…At first, I was confused and began to wonder if I was being selfish by asking for donations.

but then God intervened.

God spoke to my heart and told me that I was not to go on the World Race using my own strength, but by fully relying on Him to work this situation out completely.

This kind of faith is hard.

I’ve been praying fervently to have the kind of faith that moves mountains (Matthew 17:20).

As I’ve been praying God has been revealing a few things to me:

-By raising support, God is using my supporters to play a vital role in spreading the Gospel to the nations.

-If I tried to work and earn my way through the World Race, God would not be glorified in the way that He should.

-I am growing closer to the Lord, than ever before, by having to fully rely on Him to provide for my needs.

God even related this to my tendency to think logically:

-If I took out a loan, it would cause me to put the call to serve as a full time international missionary when I am finished with the Race on hold so that I could work to pay off the loan.

Fundraising is harder than I would have ever imagined. Everyday I make decisions that are pretty scary. For example, I’ve felt led to sell just about all of my possessions (car, clothes, furniture, you name it) before I leave in September and step into the unknown with God. I have no clue what God has in store for me after the Race, but I do know that He calls me to trust Him with everything and to not hold anything back from Him.

If you feel led to partner with me on this journey, I would love to sit down and talk with you or even Skype about what God has done through World Racers in the past and what lies ahead for me as a Racer. You can email me at [email protected] and we can set up a time. If 40 people donated $40 a month from May-December, I will be fully funded! I can’t wait to share this journey with y’all!

*Side note: The name of the blog comes from a Jesse McCartney song that I was in love with in 7th grade, by no means do I believe in magic.

I’ll just leave this here for you, in case you want a glimpse of my embarrassing childhood..
